A morning-rally,
public-private discussion and interaction programme will be organised on the
occasion.
"We aim to create
a bond between the government and private institutions and generate awareness about
the export trade. It is also aimed at drawing government attention to export
promotion," said Surendra Kumar Shrestha, ECON President.
He said that the
liquidity crisis in the financial system had hit the businessmen hard and they
are suffering due to the ever-surging interest rates.
He demanded government
interference in the matter.
Similarly, Industrial
Enterprise Act, Bonus Act and Liquor Act are not private-sector friendly. The
government should not make the legal provisions complex, he said.
According to him,
export trade is the main basis for the economic prosperity of any country,
therefore, the government should protect the domestic industries and create
conducive business environment with timely changes in the policies and laws.
Shrestha said that ECON
will organise programmes on incentives on trade, social security, customs
duties and other pertinent issues.
The programme is
supported by the Trade and Export Promotion Centre and Federation of Handicraft
Associations of Nepal.
