Kathmandu, Jan. 13: The Federation
of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has urged the Indian
government to support Nepal’s effort to attract more tourists.
A delegation of the Nepali private
sector body met with Indian Commerce, Industry and Civil Aviation Minister
Suresh Prabhu and and Chief Minister of Maharastra Province Devendra Fadnavis
on Sunday and urged them to help in Nepal’s religious tourism promotion in India.
During a meeting with Fadnavis,
the delegation leader, former president of the FNCCI, Chandi Raj Dhakal
proposed collaboration in bilateral tourism promotion between Nepal and
Maharastra.
“He also urged the Indian chief
minister to increase Kathmandu-Mumbai flights as well,” said the FNCCI in a
press statement.
Dhakal extended FNCCI's invitation
to Minister Prabhu as the guest at the Chamber and Industry Day celebrations
being held on April 11.
FNCCI vice-president Kishor Kumar
Pradhan said that Nepal has simplified the laws and policies related to
business and investment and urged the Indian investors to invest in Nepal.
“Nepal has developed ‘One Stop Service’ to facilitate the foreign investors and
the company registration process has been simplified,” he said.
The FNCCI delegation is in Mumbai
to participate in the CII-Partnership Summit 2019 organised by the
Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
Dhakal has addressed the summit
that was attended by business delegations from 44 countries in Asia, Africa and
Europe. He had assured government and private sector cooperation to the foreign
investors and urged the participants to invest in priority areas like energy,
tourism, agriculture, infrastructure and information technology.
Members of FNCCI and CII also
emphasised on enhanced cooperation and collaboration between the two
organisations.
