Kathmandu, Sept. 4
Chairman
of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Li
Zhanshu, is arriving in Nepal on September 12.
He is scheduled
to visit Nepal from September 12 to 15 at the invitation of Speaker of the
House of Representatives of Nepal Agni Prasad Sapkota, said the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in a statement on Sunday.
Speaker Sapkota and Chairman Li will hold delegation-level
bilateral talks on September 12. Sapkota
will host a banquet in honour of the visiting guest and his delegation in the
evening on the same day.
During his stay in Nepal, Li will pay courtesy calls on President,
Bidya Devi Bhandari on September 14 and
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on September13. On the same day, he will meet
with Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and Minister for
Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka will pay a courtesy call on Li.
Former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-UML, K P Sharma Oli, and former
Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-Maoist Centre, Pushpa Kamal Dahal
‘Prachanda’, will also hold separate meetings with the visiting chairman on September 13, informed the MoFA.
Earlier in August this year, FM Dr. Khadka had visited China.
During the visit, the northern neighbour had assured Nepal of
expediting projected assisted by it such as expansion of Kathmandu Ring Road,
feasibility study of Keyrung-Kathmandu Railway, and Nepal-China Cross border
Transmission Line.
