Kathmandu, Sept. 19
Professor Dr. Achyut Wagle has been
appointed to the post of Registrar of Kathmandu University.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is
also the Chancellor of the KU, appointed him to the post on Sunday for four
years.
According to Section 15(1) of the
Kathmandu University Act, he was appointed on the recommendation of Vice-Chancellor Professor Bhola Thapa.
Dr. Wagle has been serving as the Associate
Dean at the Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM). He is a PhD in
Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
Likewise, he has an MA degree from the Tribhuvan
University and MSc in Economics from Birmingham University, United Kingdom. Previously
a journalist and editor of national newspapers, Dr. Wagle is known as an
economic analyst.
He has succeeded Prof. Subodh Sharma.
