Japan urges Nepal to create investment environment

Kathmandu, July 11: Visiting Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Kiyoshi Odawara Tuesday urged Nepal to create an investment environment for Japanese investors in Nepal.

In a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Krishna BahadurMahara at his office at Singha Durbar, he said that Japanese investors were ready to come to Nepal if there was a conduciveinvestment environment for them.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers discussed issues of bilateral relations, mutual interest and cooperation.

DPM Mahara appreciated the continuous support of Japan in Nepal's economic and social development.
This is Odawara's first visit to Nepal.

Meanwhile, Ambassador of Switzerland, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Jorg Giovanni Frieden, W. S. Parera and MashfeeBinte Shams called on DPM Maharaseparately in the afternoon on Tuesday.

Shams and Parera invited the DPM for the visit of their respective countries.
