Shanti Ban to be expanded to 108 locations

Lalitpur, July 1: Founder of Shanti Ban (Peace Forest) Bijaya Bajracharya Saturday said that the Ban would be expanded to 108 locations in Nepal and abroad.
Speaking at a function organised at the Shanti Ban at Godavari, he said that the organization was receiving applications from around the world to implement the concept of spiritual forest.
“We have received application requesting for the establishment of the Shanti Ban at as much as 35 locations. But, it can’t be realized in all the locations since we have limited resources as we don’t ask for donations from any one and create the Ban with our own budget,” he said.
He also said that the organization was offered land in many countries such as Cambodia, Japan and the Philippines to establish the garden.
Shanti Ban is a spiritual garden established within a small forest where giant statue of Lord Buddha is installed and people visit the place for worship, peace and fun.
The first Shanti Ban was established in Godavari in 2002, which is now expanded to Lumbini and Dhulikhel.
Bajracharya said that he wanted to devote his life to spread love and defeat hatred between human and every living being on the planet.
Shanti Ban is used to preach Buddhist teachings to children, perform meditation and other religious as well as spiritual activities.
According to Bajracharya, the aim of the Shanti Ban Worldwide Campaign was to defeat hunger, inspire people lead happy and healthy life and create spiritual network worldwide.

On the occasion, composers Suresh Adhikari, Mahesh Khadka and Laxman Shrestha along with other singers presented hymns and song on Shanti Ban.
