Pak pledges Rs. 104 m for flood victims



Kathmandu, Oct. 12: Pakistan has announced to provide an assistance of Rs. 104 million for the rehabilitation of the people affect by the floods in the Terai, and reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure.
According to a press statement issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had conveyed his sympathies for the flood affected people and pledged assistance during his meeting with the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in New York on the sidelines of the United National General Assembly last month.
Earlier, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Muhammad Asif had conveyed his condolences to his Nepali counterpart Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
The embassy also stated that the governments and people of the two countries enjoy close and friendly relations and have always stood together and cooperated with each other in hours of difficulty.
