Firm registration process should be simplified: NCC

Kathmandu, Mar. 5

Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has urged Industry Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS) Arjun Prasad Pokharel to address the complex process in the business registration.

"Without ending the need to make rounds of various government agencies to register the business, industrialisation and entrepreneurship development is a far-fetched dream," NCC president Rajesh Kazi Shrestha said in a meeting with the secretary on Thursday.

He pointed to the need of executing the business registration and government revenue collection through a one door system. He said that the private sector investors were not encouraged to establish industries at the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in absence of timely decision in the part of the government.

Secretary Pokharel said that the government was putting efforts to create business and investment-friendly environment by creating harmony among the law and policies of all the levels of government.

He said that the time would be set for the registration of business so that it could be done in a fast and efficient manner.

Likewise, Secretary of Commerce and Supplies Dinesh Bhattarai said that the Ministry would cooperate with the Ministry of Finance to address the constraints in export business.
