Students of the Thapathali Engineering
Campus have developed an electric vehicle to participate in the global
challenge of the category slated for next September.
A student group, named as Sireto team,
has built the chassis of the vehicle. Sireto means the cold wind.
According to the team, due to the
college exams, the work of making the outer part (frame) of the EV remains to
be completed. They are planning to build the exterior of the vehicle soon.
Cell Energy is organising competitions in
the United States, Europe and Asian countries and conducting competitions among
electric, petroleum and hydrogen fuel-powered vehicles.
Vehicle that gives more mileage with the
consumption of less energy will be considered the best.
There are 10 students of various
disciplines including mechanical, automobile, and electrical studying in the third year of graduation in the Shireto team.
Faculty Advisor Subodh Kumar Ghimire is leading
the team. Taking Ghimire's advice and suggestions, Saugat Pandey, Dhan Prasad
Pradhan and Ojashvi Sharma studying mechanical engineering and Anil Khadka,
Aman Shrestha, Eugene Maharjan, Bhubaneswar Dahal and Vivek Poudel studying
automobile engineering as well as Swarnim Shrestha studying electronics and
communication are working at the best of their abilities for creating the
vehicle.
Golchha Group, a leading business house,
has supported in making this electric vehicle.
The group said that it supported the
project with the objective of promoting sustainable energy.
