Work has been initiated to create the necessary policy for the resettlement and rehabilitation of the people affected by the Budhigandaki Hydroelectricity Project.

The policy formulation is started to manage more than 3,000 households of 27 erstwhile Village Development Committees, said Krishna Karki, Head of Project’s Environment Assessment, Resettlement and Rehabilitation Unit.

According to him, the project is discussing with the stakeholders including the locals.

“Preparing plan for the resettlement is the first process in rehabilitation,” he said.
