Japanese lawmakers call on NA chair Timilsina


Kathmandu, Dec. 21: A delegation of Japanese House of Councillors, upper house of the Japan's National Parliament, called on Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Timilsina at the latter's office in Singha Durbar on Friday.

Chairman Timilsina said that the bilateral relations between the two countries were moving ahead with friendship, partnership and cooperation.

He said that the visit of the four-member delegation to Nepal would contribute to strengthening relations and cooperation between the two nations.

He informed the visiting parliamentarians that the government in Nepal had given priority to the development of industry and tourism and modernisation of agriculture and expressed his hopes that Japan would extend its support to Nepal in achieving the development targets.

Coordinator of the Japanese delegation KatsomiAgawasaid that the visit's main objective was to take the bilateral relations between Nepal and Japan to people's level.

The delegation observed five projects being developed with the Japanese support.
He assured Japanese support in Nepal's development and prosperity.
