Japan provides mammography machine to NCCF


Kathmandu, Dec. 28: Japan will provide a mammography machine to Nepal Cancer Care Foundation.
Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masamichi Saigo and Chairperson of the Foundation Sushil Kumar Pant signed a grant contract for the same on Friday.
The project for the Provision of Medical Equipment to the Foundation in Lalitpur metropolis is funded under the grant assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) of Japan government, said the Embassy of Japan, Kathmandu.
The grant assistance amounts to Rs. 8.2 million.
Nepal Cancer Care Foundation in Satdobato, Lalitpur is a specialised hospital for women's cancer and has been offering treatment to more than 4,000 patients every year.
The hospital also organises free cancer screening in remote areas.
The medical equipment will be used to provide free regular check-ups for women.
"We hope that this project will contribute towards enhancing better hospital services for cancer patients, and also strengthen the bilateral relationship between Japan and Nepal," said the embassy.
