29: Gorkhapatra Employee Multipurpose Cooperative Organisation Limited (GEMCOL)
has mobilised savings of Rs. 15.7 million by the end of last fiscal year
2017/18.
Its share
capital has reached Rs. 3.73 million.
"The
cooperative has played an important role in supporting its members in various
economic activities," speaking at the 12th Annual General
Assembly of GEMCOL Executive Chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation Krishna Murari
Bhandari said.
He said that the
cooperative was an excellent example of cooperation among the editorial,
account, printing, circulation, administration and other staff.
President of
GEMCOL Deepak Poudel said that the cooperative had played role in resolving
problems in a mutual way and has contributed in increased confidence, mutual
understanding and cooperation among its members.
The cooperative
awarded the children of Gorkhapatra employee who obtained excellent results in
the last SEE exam with cash and certificate. Awardees are Pabitra Acharya's
daughter Prapti Timilsena, Umesh Ojha's daughter Nuss Ojha, Om Bhusal's son
Arpan Bhusal, Rekh Raj Basnet's son Suresh Basnet, Pushpa Raj Joshi's son Shree
Ansh Joshi, Shanta Adhikari's daughter Namuna Kafle, Krishna Shrestha's
daughter Evana Shrestha and Rashil Sharma's daughter Akriti Sharma.
Poudel reelected as chairman
Dipak Poudel has
been unanimously reelected as the chairman of GEMCOL. Basanta Malla Sharma and
Hari Krishna Aryal have been elected to the post of Vice-Chairman, Bimala
Ghimre Secretary and Indira Pandey Treasurer.
Similarly,
Pabitra Acharya, Maya Acharya, Pabitra Gautam, Yashoda Khanal, Narayan Gotame
and Shyam Kumar Thapa have been elected as members. Ramesh Neupane has become
the Coordinator, and Amir Maiya Ranjit and Tulsi Maharjan members of Account
Committee.
