Kathmandu, Aug. 8
The US Embassy in Nepal hosted the launch
session for the new 2026 cohort of USYC Nepal, a talented group of 55 young
leaders selected from more than 1,600 applicants across Nepal, on Friday.
Chargé d'Affaires Scott Urbom congratulated
the participants and highlighted the important role these leaders will play in
driving innovation, economic growth, and positive change in their communities.
During their one-year tenure, cohort
members will also build leadership skills, connect with peers and industry
experts, and prepare for future opportunities to benefit Nepal.
"As the United States marks 250 years
of independence, programmes like USYC Nepal demonstrate our longstanding
commitment to working with Nepal's newest leaders across a wide range of
professional fields," the Embassy said in a statement.
It further added that a more prosperous
Nepal creates new opportunities for trade, innovation, and long-term
cooperation that benefit both the United States and Nepal.
