Kathmandu, Aug. 2
The
Confederation of Nepalese Industries Young Entrepreneurs Forum (CNIYEF) has
elected Sugam Ghimire as president for its new term during the organisation's
eighth Annual General Meeting held in Kathmandu on Friday evening.
The
newly elected governing council also includes Manish Shrestha as immediate past
president, Chirag Sarawagi as learning chair, Shiny Khetan as membership and
integration chair, Nida Doon Malla as startup, entrepreneurship and innovation
chair, Sujeet Regmi as government and diplomatic relations chair, and Punit
Agrawal as communications and expansion chair.
Likewise,
Yash Agrawal is elected as strategic alliance and communications chair, and
Ankur Agrawal as finance and international relations chair. The council is
supported by co-chairs Nancy Agrawal, Sachet Manandhar and Chetan Pradhan.
The
forum also presented awards to individuals and regional chapters. Jitendra
Bahatey received the Most Active Member (Male) award, while Neha Agrawal was
recognised as Most Active Member (Female). Sudhigya Pant received the
Outstanding Achievement Award for climbing Mount Everest.
Among
the regional chapters, Lumbini Chapter received the Chapter Growth Award for
expanding its membership, while Koshi Chapter received the Chapter Excellence
Award.
Addressing
the event, member of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Pukar Malla said the
government had allocated Rs. 500 million for the Enterprise Development
Facility and expressed interest in working with CNIYEF to support youth-led
enterprise initiatives.
President
of CNI Birendra Raj Pandey said the organisation had contributed to promoting
entrepreneurship among young people and stated that CNI would continue to
support the forum's activities.
