One Nepali killed in Kuwait drone attack

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait has confirmed the death of Nepali national Som Kumar Tamang, 44, from Tehrathum district, in a drone attack on Thursday.

The Embassy of Nepal in Kuwait informed in a statement on Friday that official confirmation has been received from Kuwait's foreign ministry regarding the tragic incident.

Tamang, who was employed as a driver in Kuwait, was killed following a drone attack in the northern region of Kuwait on July 30.

The Embassy expressed its grief over the death of Tamang, paid heartfelt tribute, and offered prayers for the peace of the departed soul.

"The Embassy is actively working in co-ordination with the relevant authorities to complete all necessary formalities, including the swift repatriation of Tamang’s mortal remains to Nepal," it informed in a statement.

Stating the situation as sensitive, it has advised all Nepalis in Kuwait to exercise restraint, remain in safe locations, and strictly observe all safety guidelines issued by the Government of Kuwait.
