NRB DG Rawal swears in

Kathmandu, Aug. 20

The newly appointed Deputy Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Dirgha Bahadur Rawal, took the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday. He was administered the oath by Governor Prof. Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel.

He also assumed office on the same day. Earlier, he had been leading the Bank Supervision Department at the central bank.

Rawal was appointed Deputy Governor by the Cabinet on Wednesday. During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Poudel offered a brief address, congratulating Rawal and wishing him a successful tenure.

Rawal had joined the NRB on 16 January 2006 as an Assistant Director. He was promoted to Deputy Director in 2011/12, Director in 2018/19, and Executive Director on 31 May 2025.
