CEO of Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Limited (SALICO) Chunky Chhetry
has been elected Vice-President of the Association of Insurers and Reinsurers
of Developing Countries (AIRDC).
He was elected Vice-President at AIRDC’s General Membership Meeting held in
Harare, Zimbabwe, earlier this week. He will also serve as a member of AIRDC’s
Executive Board of Trustees.
Stating that established to promote cooperation, knowledge and experience
sharing among insurance and reinsurance companies in developing countries and
to support the development and expansion of the insurance sector, the company
expressed hopes that AIRDC will provide Nepal’s insurance sector greater
opportunities for international representation and collaboration through Chhetry’s
leadership.
Similarly, Chhetry will serve as Chairman of the Local Organising Committee
for the 25th AIRDC Conference, which will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2028.
Under his leadership, coordination and cooperation between Nepal and AIRDC
member countries will be further strengthened to ensure the successful
organisation of the conference, said the company.
Meanwhile, SALICO signed an agreement with Himalayan
Bullion Company to provide accidental insurance coverage to all customers of
the company. Under the agreement, accidental insurance coverage will be
provided to customers from the upcoming anniversary of the company, according
to their membership category. Customers with Silver Membership will get accidental
insurance coverage of up to Rs. 100,000, Gold Membership up to Rs. 500,000 and
Diamond Membership up to Rs. 1 million.
Himalayan Bullion is in jewellery business for the past
two and a half decades.
