Ban Thai opens outlet at Maharajgunj

Kathmandu, July 14: The Ban Thai Restaurant at Durbarmarg has opened its branch at Maharajgunj.
This is the fifth business investment of Ganesh Dhakal, owner of the restaurant, who has been running Royal Thai Ostrich Restaurant in Durbarmarg, Thai Restaurant in Baneshwoar and Royal Banquet in Tinkune.
Thai Ambassador for Nepal Vutti Vuttisant inaugurated the restaurant amidst a special programme on Wednesday.
“This restaurant will serve typical Thai food. Our aim is to offer quality and healthy food at a reasonable price,” said Dhakal.
He informed that spices and other materials required to prepare delicacies were imported from Thailand and vegetables and other agricultural products were produced at his own organic farm in Bhaktapur.
Ambassador Vuttisant said that the demand of Thai food was on the rise globally. “I have found that demand of typical Thai food is ever increasing in Nepal and I hope that this restaurant will cater to the need of locals,” he said.
The restaurant has the capacity to serve at least 140 people at a time. It has four meeting rooms and parking facility.

Dhakal claimed that he had designed the ambiance of the restaurant as per the local restaurant in Thailand
