Samana Banking Prize to Dr. Koirala

Kathmandu, July 2: Samana Banking Puraskar Guthi has announced that this year’s Samana Banking prize will be given to a book titled ‘Essentials of Commercial bank Management’, authored by Prof. Dr. Parasar Koirala.
A Prof. Dr. Bishwambhar Pyakurel led jury that included Prof. Dr. Madan Dahal and Shree Krishna Pradhan had recommended awarding the book with the prize.
The prize includes a plaque and a purse of Rs. 50,000.
The prize had been awarded to Bhola Ram Shrestha and Devendra Bahadur Raut, Dr. Rama Basyal and Bharat Bhurtel, and Rajan Bikram Thapa and Dirgha Bahadur Rawal in the pervious years, Guthi informed in a press statement.
Similarly, second edition of Samana Banking Jurnalism Prize will be given to television journalist Himal Neupane. The prize consists of a plaque and a purse of Rs. 15,000.
Secretary of the Guthi Upendra Bahadur Karki informed that the Guthi had decided to increase the Banking Prize amount to Rs. 75,000 and Journalism Prize to 25,000 in coming years.

Dr. Rewat Bahadur Karki, economist and chairman of the Security Board of Nepal, had established the prize 11 years ago.
