Kathmandu,
July 5: Resident coordinator of the United Nations and resident representative
of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nepal Valerie Julliand
presented her credentials to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign
Affairs Kamal Thapa at the Ministry Tuesday.
According
to a press statement issued by the Ministry, DPM Thapa and Julliand distussed
relations between Nepal and the United Nations and exchanged views on current
political and economic development of Nepal, implementation of the constitution
as well as post-earthquake reconstruction and rehabilitation works being
carried out by Nepal.
“Matters
regarding the UN Development Assistance framework (UNDAF) process, Sustainable
Developmetn Goals and Nepal’s ongoing efforts towards achieving them, and
Nepal’s efforts towards graduating from the Least Developed Country status by
2022 and the need for a continued cooperation of the UN and international
community were also figured out during the conversation,” read the press statement.
