NSBL gets AA rating

Kathmandu, July 17: ICRA Nepal Thursday assigned issuer rating of AA” to Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBL).
According to a press release issued by the bank, AA” rating is considered as high credit quality rating assigned by ICRA Nepal and the rated entity carries low credit risk.
Similarly, ICRA Nepal has reaffirmed the ration of LAA to the subordinated bonds or debenture of Rs. 200 million of NSBL issued in 2014.
Both the ratings were the highest rating assigned by ICRA Nepal to Nepali listed companies so far.
According to ICRA Nepal, the rating assignment and reaffirmation were due to the bank’s strong promoter profile, existence of Technical Service Agreement (TSA) with State Bank of India, established track record and adequate franchise lending to good market position in Nepal.
“ICRA Nepal also said that the rating was assigned to the bank by taking into consideration bank’s experienced senior management, improved deposits profile, strong asset quality, adequate capitalization levels, moderate portfolio growth and adequate earnings profile,” said the bank.

NSBL has 73 offices, including 3 regional offices in Biratnagar, Nepalgunj and Kathmandu, 86 ATMs with E-corner and mobile banking.
