Kathmandu, Aug. 28
Member organisations of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) have contributed over Rs. 355 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund under the coordination of the CNI.
A CNI delegation led
by President Birendra Raj Pandey handed over cheques to Finance Minister Dr.
Swarnim Wagle on Friday on behalf of member organisations and individual
donors.
Likewise, former
President Bishnu Kumar Agrawal handed over a cheque for Rs. 111 million from
MAW Group, while CNI Governing Council member and industrialist Bijay Kumar
Shah presented a cheque for Rs. 100 million.
Similarly, Jawalakhel
Distillery contributed Rs. 100 million, Himalayan Distillery Rs 100. million,
and Himalayan Bullion Company Rs. 101 million. Chaudhary Group and Nabil Bank
have provided more than Rs 1.5 billion in assistance. Nepal Adarsha Nirman
Company has pledged Rs. 1 million.
Good Home Products
contributed Rs. 221,000, British Colour Industries Rs. 210,000, Langtang Re
Trekking Rs. 112,000, CAS Trading Rs. 111,111, Silver Lining Rs. 111,111, and
Glocal Pvt Ltd Rs. 50,000.
Earlier, Gorkha
Brewery had contributed Rs. 100 million to the relief fund under the
coordination of the CNI.
The CNI has also
urged its member organisations, industrialists and businesspeople to provide
whatever assistance they can towards rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts
for those affected by the floods.
