Global IME Bank Limited (GIBL) has proposed
a 10 per cent dividend for its shareholders from the distributable profit of
the last fiscal year, 2025/26. The proposed dividend comprises a 6 per cent
cash dividend, including tax, and 4 per cent bonus share dividend.
The bank's Board of Directors made the
proposal at its meeting on Wednesday. The proposed dividend will be distributed
to shareholders after approval by Nepal Rastra Bank and endorsement by the
bank's upcoming annual general meeting, the bank informed in a statement.
GIBL is the first private-sector commercial
bank in Nepal to expand its branch network to all 77 districts of the country.
It currently provides services through more than 1,000 service points,
including 341 branch offices, 366 ATMs, 147 branchless banking centres, 69
extension and revenue collection counters, and three representative offices
abroad.
The bank also brings remittances into Nepal
through formal channels from countries including the United States, the United
Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the
United Arab Emirates and India.
It has received various national and
international awards for its use of modern technology and customer service. It
has received titles including ‘Bank of the Year’, ‘Best Internet Bank’ and
‘Best Bank Nepal’. The bank has also received awards including the Euromoney
Award for Excellence, Best Bank ESG Nepal and Best Employer.
